Writing a book is mainly a matter of personal feeling and practices. Only the writer knows how he/she wants the book to be like. Remember that writing is an art and that you have to find your own writing style. We will give general advice on how to properly write a book.

How To Write a Great Book And properly?

The rhythm – Your story needs a good rhythm. A rhythm that fits your story, of course. A rhythm that is going to capture the reader's attention. Do you remember when your parents were reading a story to you before bed? Do you remember being captivated by listening just to their voice? A story that is read too fast or too slow can lose its rhythm. That is the same thing when you write: you need to find the right words, the right punctuations and the right events to capture your readers' attention.

The rhythm of your sentences, of your chapter can have a tremendous impact on the events in your book. Think about what rhythm your story should have to captivate your readers.

Put more efforts on your descriptions – Now, think about why would somebody read a book? We read to be able to have a mental image of the actions, the characters, etc. We don't read just to read, but we “read to see”, we read to imagine. If you botch up your descriptions, chances are your reader will have difficulties to understand and imagine the scenes. So go ahead and work on your descriptions. They are very important. Talk about the colors, the sound, the smell, the temperature, etc!

The characters – There are not much to say about your characters because a book is a personal matter due to its artistic traits, but remember that characters are very crucial. Your characters need to be engaging. When people get addicted to a book it's also because they have fell in love with one or more characters. So make your characters engaging.

Choose the right time/tense – Will you be using the past tense? The present or the future? Whatever you choose, choose it carefully and make sure that it is the right time/tense to use for your book. You need to have a reason to choose a specific time/tense so think about it carefully.
